Albert’s Story

Albert Jake was born at home in 1959 in Ramah, New Mexico. Albert attended school in Ramah until 6th grade, then moved to Springerville, Arizona, where he attended school until 8th grade. Albert then moved to Pine Hills, New Mexico, where he completed high school in 1978. Albert grew up in a large family with one older brother, three older sisters, and three younger sisters. Leaving high school, Albert learned to sandpaint and was blessed with the ability to draw, which gave him income for the next few years. Albert first began to learn the art of silversmithing from his sister Louise, then worked for another company for several years. Bonecutters has been fortunate to work with Albert Jake since November of 1989. In his spare time, Albert enjoys doing anything outdoors, and spends time with his two daughters. Albert has always enjoyed the challenge of making something turn out nice. He creates both contemporary and old style pieces and loves all the types of work he makes.
